As the Fresno and surrounding communities grow so does the need for staffing firefighters for Fort Bend ESD 7. One of the goals of the 2022 fiscal year strategic plan organized by the FBESD7 Command Staff was to secure additional full-time staff to better serve our growing community.

In the past, FBESD7 has operated with a combination of full-time, part-time, and volunteer firefighters. With only one full-time firefighter on duty supplemented by part-time Captains and Driver Operators. Earlier this year the department hired its first full-time Driver Operators and recently hired three full-time Captains. On May 1st FBESD7 achieved the goal of staffing an engine with its first full-time crew.

“This addition of staff sets the foundation for our future growth as a team, we continue to strive to provide the best service to the community”, Fire Chief Anthony Bates said.
